Dundee Gymnastics Club 2K are the new Scottish Gymnastics Women's Artistic Team Champions! The Scottish Gymnastics Championships were held on 22-23rd February 2014 in the Bell's Sports Centre in Perth.  The first day of the Championships is the All Around and Team event.  DGC2K were delighted to win Gold in the Team event beating off stiff competition from City of Glasgow and  West Lothian teams.
Sofia Ramzan (13, Grove Academy) won Silver in the All Around Junior age group and Sarah McKenzie (12, Dundee High) won Silver in the All Around Espoir age group.  This consolidates their positions as two of the best young gymnasts in Scotland.
The second day of the Championships is the finals for the individual apparatus. In the Senior finals; Kirsty Campbell won Silver on the Asymmetric Bars, Bronze on Vault and Bronze on Floor. Kirsty (18, Dundee College) gained a Commonwealth qualifying score on Floor and will compete at both the English and British Championships during March towards selection for the Scottish Team for the Commonwealth Games.
In the Junior finals; Sofia Ramzan won Gold on the Asymmetric Bars, Silver on Vault and Floor, and Bronze on Beam.  In the Espoir finals; Sarah McKenzie won Silver on Floor and Bronze on Vault and the Asymmetric Bars while Rosa Holm-Huxley (11, Victoria Park Primary) won Bronze on Beam.
Dundee Gymnastics Club 2K (dgc2k.co.uk) train at the Dick McTaggart Gymnastics Centre in Dundee which opened in 2013 after a complete refurbishment and now has equipment as good as any in Scotland. DGC2K has more than doubled in size over the last year and now has 160 members.  There are sections in Women's Artistic Gymnastics, Power Tumble, Floor and Vault, and Rhythmic Gymnastics.  The winning team started at the club from as young as 4 years old and have been trained up through the years by Head Coach Bea Petersen and the team of 12 qualified coaches.
